About the position

As a Senior Financial Analyst at Liberty Mutual Insurance, you will play a crucial role in independently planning and monitoring the development of financial plans, as well as analyzing and reporting results in a deadline-focused environment. This position requires collaboration with your team to gather necessary information and resolve issues as they arise. You will leverage your growing business acumen and analytical expertise to perform ad hoc financial analyses, effectively communicating the results to management. Your contributions will be vital in leading efforts to continuously improve processes, enhancing the speed and effectiveness of financial analysis. In this dynamic role, you will participate in complex financial analysis reports and projects that support the broader Technology Organization. Utilizing your knowledge of financial practices and procedures, you will have the opportunity to grow your skills in financial analysis, presentations, and project management within a fast-paced and collaborative environment. This position is designed to develop future finance leaders, providing you with exposure to various aspects of Technology Finance and the chance to drive consistency across multiple functions. You will be responsible for participating in monthly forecasting report outs to Technology Senior Management, performing variance analyses (such as plan vs actual, prior and forecast, and multi-year trends), and identifying significant items that require further investigation. Additionally, you will oversee the financial systems necessary for monthly results analysis, coordinating enhancements and assisting in resolving production problems with minimal oversight. Your role will also involve evaluating stakeholder data requirements, identifying and correcting gaps in current reporting, and suggesting opportunities for efficiencies and improvements to processes, controls, and technology systems related to the functions being performed.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and contribute across Technology Finance driving consistency and gaining exposure to multiple sides of Technology.
  • Participate in monthly forecasting report outs to Technology Senior Management.
  • Perform variance analyses (e.g. plan vs actual, prior and forecast, multi-year trends) and identify significant items requiring further investigation.
  • Oversee financial systems needed for monthly results analysis, coordinating enhancements and assisting in resolving production problems with minimal oversight.
  • Evaluate stakeholder data requirements; identify and correct gaps in current reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies and improvements to process, controls and technology systems related to functions being performed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of finance experience.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously to drive results.
  • Effective communication skills with teammates and others, leading meetings and interacting with higher levels of management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word is preferred.
