About the position

As a Senior Financial Analyst at TJX Companies, you will be an integral member of the Corporate FP&A team, acting as a strategic partner to both the finance and global logistics teams. Your primary responsibility will be to provide in-depth analysis and actionable recommendations on critical supply chain initiatives, which will significantly influence decision-making processes within the organization. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate across various divisional and functional areas, allowing you to engage with C-level executives and business leaders on a daily basis, thereby enhancing your exposure and influence within the company. In this position, you will be tasked with creating and preparing comprehensive financial models and reports that facilitate the analysis of key initiatives. You will also prepare and present your findings and recommendations to senior leadership teams in finance and logistics, including C-level executives, to aid in driving informed decision-making. Additionally, you will conduct market research on the freight industry to identify potential opportunities or challenges that could impact the organization's strategic goals. Your support will extend to the financial planning process, where you will deliver actionable insights regarding how various initiatives and market trends will affect the annual plan and forecasts for the remainder of the year. You will engage in several potential projects, including supply chain optimization, where you will scope, evaluate, and track key logistics cost savings initiatives that impact the freight forecast. You will also partner with logistics leadership to evaluate the financial implications of rate negotiations with providers, ensuring that TJX's position is competitive in the market. Furthermore, you will assess transportation projects to determine their alignment with the long-term growth objectives of the business and their adherence to key investment criteria. Your role will also involve providing freight analysis and attribution for quarterly earnings, ensuring that insights into TJX's freight drivers are clear and concise for investor and analyst preparations. Lastly, you will be responsible for preparing presentations and KPI reports for Board of Directors and Operational Summit meetings, showcasing your analytical prowess and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create and prepare financial models and reporting that facilitates analysis of key initiatives
  • Prepare and present recommendations to finance and logistics senior leadership teams including C-level executives to help drive decision making
  • Provide market research on the freight industry to identify potential opportunities or headwinds that could impact the organization's goals
  • Support the financial planning process by delivering actionable insights on how various initiatives and market trends will impact the annual plan and rest of year forecasts
  • Scope, evaluate, and track key Logistics Cost Savings Initiatives that impact the freight forecast
  • Partner with Logistics leadership to evaluate the financial impact of rate negotiations with our providers
  • Evaluate transportation projects to determine if the projects support the long-term growth of the business and meet key investment criteria
  • Provide freight analysis and attribution that provides clear and concise insight to TJX freight drivers as part of Quarterly Earnings and Investor/Analyst preparation
  • Prepare presentations and KPI reporting for Board of Director's and Operational Summit meetings

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Financial Analysis experience; Consulting, Investment Banking or FP&A experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree with majors in Finance, Economics preferred
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Proven aptitude with Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple engagements and manage rapidly changing assignments in a fast paced, team environment
  • High level of curiosity to explore, learn and understand business information
