About the position

As a Senior Financial Analyst at Wegmans, you will play a crucial role in the financial health of the organization. This position is based in our Rochester, NY offices, where we offer flexible work solutions, including a hybrid work schedule. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing financial reports, performing month-end closing processes, and analyzing and interpreting financial results. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders to provide financial transparency and support the company's strategic priorities. In this role, you will compile various financial reports that accurately reflect the financial position of Wegmans Food Markets. You will coordinate with cross-functional team members to ensure that reporting is actionable and timely. Additionally, you will assist in compiling budgets for specific accounts and perform monthly closing tasks, which include reporting, journal entries, and month-end reconciliations. Your analytical skills will be essential as you assist individuals in analyzing their business operations to drive improved outcomes. You will also be responsible for researching, analyzing, and identifying the causes of variances in financial performance, recommending ways to improve results both financially and operationally for our employees and customers. Completing special projects and compiling various ad hoc reports for the department as requested will also be part of your duties. Responsibilities

  • Compile various Financial Reports that accurately reflect the financial position of Wegmans Food Markets
  • Coordinate with cross functional team members to provide actionable and timely reporting
  • Assist in compiling budgets for specific accounts
  • Perform monthly closing tasks including reporting, journal entries and month end reconciliations
  • Assist individuals in analyzing their business to help drive improved outcomes
  • Research, analyze and identify the causes of variances, recommending ways to improve the result both financially and operationally for our employees and customers
  • Complete special projects and compile various ad hoc reports for the department as requested

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of accounting, finance experience or related field
  • Experience analyzing data & making recommendations based on your findings
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with Pivot Tables
