About the position

As a Senior Financial Analyst at Takeda, you will serve as an agile thought partner and trusted advisor within the finance team. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting the Finance Business Partner in financial planning, forecasting, and analysis, as well as managing the monthly close processes. You will ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as SOX and IFRS while also driving continuous improvement in processes, controls, and financial systems. This position is onsite and reports directly to the Head of Finance. In this role, you will administer semi-annual financial planning processes and provide comprehensive analyses to the Finance Business Partner(s). You will assist in developing value-added financial models and analytical tools that support the objectives of various functions and projects. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential as you proactively address discrepancies and work with local and Regional/OpU Finance teams to provide detailed explanations for variances between actual results and planned figures. You will also manage the monthly financial close process, working closely with Takeda Business Solutions to ensure timely and accurate entries. Your responsibilities will include preparing and distributing monthly reporting packages and analyses, identifying opportunities for streamlining and enhancement. Educating functional management on the use of reporting tools and finance concepts will be a key part of your role. Additionally, you will perform product costing analysis, including updating product costs for annual changes and conducting monthly analyses of work order variances and costing for new products as needed. You will support local fixed asset management, asset tagging, verification, and controlling needs for strategic capital projects. Ensuring compliance with SOX controls and providing audit support will also be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Administer semi-annual financial planning processes and provide supporting analyses to the Finance Business Partner(s).

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to proactively solve discrepancies and develop detailed explanations for variances between actual and plan.
  • Support the development, deployment, and use of the financial planning system and financial models.
  • Manage the monthly financial close process and collaborate with Takeda Business Solutions to initiate entries on an ongoing basis.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly reporting packages and analyses, identifying opportunities for streamlining and enhancement.
  • Educate functional management on the use of reporting tools and finance concepts.
  • Perform product costing analysis and support, including updating product costs for the annual cost change and monthly analysis of work order variances.
  • Support local fixed asset, asset tagging and verification, project support, and controlling needs for strategic capital projects.
  • Ensure SOX controls compliance and audit support where required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting; Master's or CPA preferred.
  • 3 years of overall business experience in accounting, financial planning, or decision analytics roles.
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech Industry, including cost accounting experience in operations.
  • Analytical software skills (TM1, SAP, Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access).
