The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for a full range of activities which ensure the operational effectiveness and excellence of the organization. This position is also responsible for analyzing the organization's financial and operating statistics as well as making appropriate recommendations, which will facilitate positive decision making by finance, management, or investors. The Senior Financial Analyst takes a lead role in forecasting, monthly reporting, and leads ad hoc analysis. This position interacts with senior leadership regularly and acts as a primary point of contact for the department. The Senior Analyst is responsible for establishing and implementing detailed Budget and Forecast Plans for the various areas of responsibility, while working closely with Executive Leaders and their direct reports. The Senior will also be responsible for preparing actual vs. forecast analysis for presentations to leadership. Additionally, the Senior Analyst will analyze the organization's financial and operating statistics, proactively identifying areas of opportunity in the organization. This role serves as a mentor and support resource to other FP&A analysts and manages workflows for larger Finance and Investor relations projects that require multiple resources. The Senior Analyst should have the ability to transform large amounts of data into a clear and compelling story, including querying data, interpreting data, building and stress testing financial models, and communicating action-based recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team. A working knowledge of financial strategies along with the ability to analyze companies, synthesize industry research, and understand the implications to Cable One is essential. The Senior Analyst must realize thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing tasks through attention to detail and clearly defined processes, and possess the ability to do so with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of tactical and strategic initiatives to support organization objectives and identify strategies for implementation.
  • Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team to implement overall best practice processes to support those initiatives.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for operational and financial improvement and present findings to FP&A.
  • Interact closely with executive leadership in performing ad hoc analysis and respond to questions related to operating results.
  • Track and analyze operational trends and variances, comparing analysis against service standards and best practices, and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Prepare routine reports for executives, management, and others, aiding in the production of complete and accurate organizational profit and loss statements.
  • Work closely with interdepartmental and external data teams to identify and maximize information and technology to improve business processes.
  • Lead the process for a complete and accurate 5-year operational and capital forecast.
  • Take a leadership role in the production of a 2-year rolling forecast.
  • Assist the FP&A team in the facilitation of the Finance Steering Committee, reviewing ROI models for accuracy and providing feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; and 5 years analytical experience and/or training required.
  • Prior experience with PowerBI and SQL is highly desirable.
  • Ability to create advanced interactive and variable financial models with measurement tools including NPV, IRR, WACC, ROIC, ROA, and ROI.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point).
  • Working knowledge of accrual and cost based accounting.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Self-starter, needing little motivation and direct supervision.
  • Intermediate knowledge of accounting, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
  • Must be able to maintain confidential information.
