About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst position at Crown Cork & Seal USA, Inc. is a critical role within the North American Beverage Division, responsible for providing comprehensive financial analysis and support to the division's leadership. The analyst will engage in cost profitability analysis, revenue recognition, project accounting, and management, while also preparing various reports and analyses to inform executive management decisions. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct cost profitability analysis and variance analysis against prior year, budget, and rolling forecasts.
  • Prepare margin analysis on sales and project appropriation requests (PAR).
  • Generate daily and monthly reports and analyses for division leadership.
  • Develop and analyze operational performance scorecards.
  • Prepare and analyze cost per thousand (CPK) metrics.
  • Track and analyze working capital.
  • Manage revenue recognition processes.
  • Assist in project accounting and management, including cash flow budgets and forecasts.
  • Track project spending against PAR, budget, and forecast, and analyze variances.
  • Summarize findings and present to executive management.
  • Perform post-project internal rate of return (IRR) reviews.
  • Assist in the preparation of budget and rolling forecast scenarios.
  • Participate in plant budget reviews.
  • Conduct analyses to bridge projections to actuals and prior scenarios.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in finance or accounting; MBA/CPA is a plus.
  • 2+ years' experience in manufacturing accounting/finance, preferably in a large matrixed corporate environment.
  • Successful experience in project accounting.
  • Experience with cost accounting.
  • Proven communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to compose, write, edit, and proofread business correspondence, contracts, proposals, and management reports.
  • Strong data management skills, along with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to effectively use analytical or theoretical approaches to problem-solving.
  • Well organized and detail-oriented with outstanding time management skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, as well as proven presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects to completion.
  • Self-motivated and eager to take the initiative; able to work effectively in a team setting and as an individual.
