About the position

We at Chewy seek a motivated and independent Senior Financial Analyst to provide financial leadership to an exciting and fast-paced Fulfillment Center (FC)! This position is located at one of the network's fulfillment centers in Salisbury, NC. As the company grows, this role within the Finance organization represents a fundamental building block in Chewy's enterprise performance management and profitability improvement efforts. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be located at the fulfillment center, working with the leadership team on-site to improve performance and meet or exceed financial commitments. In this role, you will deliver business insight, reporting, and analysis to the General Manager and their management team, as well as the regional leadership team. You will participate in the ongoing management of the business and influence decision-making through relationships built with your cross-functional business partners. Continuous improvement will be a key focus in all areas of the business, particularly in Operations, Supply Chain, Accounting, and Finance. You will contribute to the planning, target setting, and annual planning processes, performing risk and opportunities analyses to support resource allocations. Additionally, you will manage the planning process for variable labor within the fulfillment center, ensuring Chewy can exceed customer expectations at the lowest possible cost. Collaboration with data source providers and technology teams will be essential to ensure that critical decision data is accurate and timely. You will also partner with peers at other locations to support network initiatives that may require you to visit or collaborate with management teams at different locations. Leading all aspects of the FC's monthly close process will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that books and records are accurately maintained following Chewy's policies and procedures. Lastly, you will support the Capital Planning process, including financial analysis, cost/benefit tracking, and business case development.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Information Systems required.
  • 3+ years of related experience (Operations, Finance, logistics) and a firm grasp of finance.
  • Fulfillment, distribution center, industrial manufacturing, or operations experience.
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills and experience in supporting forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sophisticated MS Office Suite skills; required proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to think creatively, work independently and as part of a team to address problems given limited resources and time, have a strong work ethic and make sure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with financial systems (SAP, Hyperion, NAV, Oracle).
  • Sophisticated skills with relational databases (e.g., Access, SQL).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, MicroStrategy).
