About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst at Blue Bird will serve as a finance business partner to the manufacturing operations, reporting directly to the Plant Controller. This role is pivotal in managing plant finances, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Manage plant finances by tracking budget vs actuals and monitoring expenditures.
• Maintain financial records and ensure compliance with organizational and federal guidelines.
• Monitor and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure reporting integrity.
• Review and analyze manufacturing trends including labor hours, efficiencies, and expenses.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and monthly forecasts.
• Provide cost accounting support, including estimating product costs for new products.
• Prepare timely reports and presentations highlighting key financial insights for management.
• Organize and archive documents to support the controls environment.
• Support internal and external audits and ad hoc projects as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5 years of experience in Accounting or Finance, with 3 years in the manufacturing industry.
• Experience with plant/manufacturing finance and inventory controls.
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting and accounting systems.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex data.

Nice-to-haves

• MBA or CPA considered a plus.
• Experience with Power BI reporting tools is a plus.
• Strong project management skills.
• Ability to communicate complex details clearly.
