About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst at the University of Oklahoma plays a crucial role in overseeing financial activities within the CCE Training and Research Center. This position involves managing and analyzing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing budgeting guidance. The analyst will supervise a Senior Accounting Specialist and be responsible for various financial tasks, including rate calculations, reconciliations, and preparing financial reports.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and analyze financial operations across multiple customer accounts.
  • Ensure rigorous cost tracking and provide essential budgeting guidance.
  • Supervise a Senior Accounting Specialist and backfill their position during absences.
  • Scrutinize actuals against budgets and ensure proper revenue and expenditure coding.
  • Prepare customer invoices and manage rate calculations, including maintenance of approximately 23 rate cards.
  • Ensure compliance with Uniform Guidance and create supporting documentation for rate development.
  • Handle reconciliations between rate card balances and University financial systems.
  • Prepare quarterly spending reports and manage cost transfers for accurate financial categorization.
  • Support the Training Center with administrative tasks such as scheduling classrooms and procuring materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 36 months of experience in a financial/accounting position including analysis, auditing, and budgeting.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy of data and information.
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to supervise staff and communicate directions effectively.
  • Strong initiative to solve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to compile, analyze, interpret, and present complex annual financial reports and projections.
  • Knowledge of automated financial systems and applications software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
