About the position

In this role at Liberty Mutual Insurance, you will independently plan and monitor the development of financial plans, as well as analyze and report results in a deadline-focused environment. You will work closely with your team to gather necessary information and resolve issues as they arise. This position requires you to utilize your growing business acumen and analytical expertise to perform ad hoc financial analysis, effectively communicating the results to management. You will lead efforts to continuously improve processes, enhancing the speed and effectiveness of financial analysis. As part of the Technology Finance team, you will encounter a dynamic environment filled with challenges similar to those found in other organizations. Your participation in complex financial analysis reports and projects will support the broader Technology Organization. Responsibilities

  • Independently plan and monitor the development of financial plans and results analysis.
  • Collaborate and contribute across Technology Finance to drive consistency and gain exposure to multiple sides of Technology.
  • Participate in monthly forecasting report outs to Technology Senior Management.
  • Perform variance analyses (e.g., plan vs actual, prior and forecast, multi-year trends) and identify significant items requiring further investigation.
  • Conduct follow-up investigations and suggest problem resolutions.
  • Oversee financial systems needed for monthly results analysis, coordinating enhancements and assisting in resolving production problems with minimal oversight.
  • Evaluate stakeholder data requirements and identify gaps in current reporting, correcting them as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies and improvements to processes, controls, and technology systems related to functions being performed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of finance experience is required.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously to drive results.
  • Effective communication skills with teammates and higher levels of management.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word is preferred.
