The Senior Financial and Grants Analyst plays a crucial role in managing a designated segment of the research financial portfolio for the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of California San Francisco. This position is not only focused on departmental projects but also extends to other externally funded initiatives, including clinical projects supported by the San Francisco Department of Public Health and the Benioff Children's Hospitals Foundation. The analyst is responsible for ensuring the protection of departmental research assets while maintaining compliance with all relevant financial, research, and operational policies and procedures. In this role, the Senior Financial and Grants Analyst will perform essential functions related to research finance and financial reporting across designated sites within the Department of Emergency Medicine. A key aspect of the position involves close collaboration with the Research Manager to address research finance items that impact the overall research operations within the department. The analyst will manage research financial systems and execute departmental procedures, providing vital analytical, operational, and financial support for various processes including research proposal processing, contract and grant administration, and budget development. This includes overseeing pre-award proposal initiatives, managing post-award activities, and ensuring proper closeout procedures for federal, state, local, and private sponsors, as well as intramural awards associated with the department's research portfolio.
