About the position

The Senior Financial Analyst, Forecasting & Management Reporting at Brightspeed plays a crucial role in the Finance team, focusing on financial, managerial, and operational reporting. This position involves analyzing financial results, identifying performance variances, and providing actionable insights to enhance decision-making processes. The analyst will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to optimize financial operations and support the company's vision of delivering superior internet services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide actionable insights and strong reporting commentary, including metrics reporting.
  • Report and analyze weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual business trends, financial statements, revenue streams, and cost structures to identify key trends and insights.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear and concise narratives for executive management.
  • Communicate financial insights and recommendations to various stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and investors.
  • Understand, manipulate, and maintain models and reports, leveraging various software tools and platforms for reporting and financial analytics such as PowerBI, SAC, and other ERP accounting tools.
  • Optimize and automate reports through the use of VBA, SAC, and PowerBI.
  • Obtain data from BigQuery, Looker, and other data sources and manage offline financial data tables monthly for reporting use.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to drive strategic and actionable insights with strong reporting commentary.
  • Support ad-hoc corporate projects including modeling, analysis, and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or data analytics.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in financial data analysis, accounting, and understanding financial statements including the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flows.
  • Highly adept in MS Excel with experience in building and/or maintaining complex financial models.
  • Experience working with planning and reporting tools such as Hyperion / Essbase, SAP, Anaplan, PowerBI, SAC, as well as ERP and accounting systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in SQL, report automation, and handling large quantities of data.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in accounting, finance, or data science.
  • CPA designation.
  • Strong telecommunications product knowledge.
  • Ability to prepare financial and accounting records.
