About the position

The Senior Financial Exploitation Investigator plays a crucial role in protecting Iowa consumers by investigating allegations of financial exploitation against senior investors. This position involves gathering and analyzing financial documents, conducting interviews, and applying relevant laws to make informed recommendations. The investigator will also collaborate with governmental agencies and develop training materials to enhance awareness and prevention of financial exploitation.

Responsibilities

• Investigate allegations of financial exploitation against senior investors.
• Gather and analyze financial documents related to investigations.
• Conduct interviews with involved parties to gather information.
• Apply applicable laws and regulations to make recommendations for action.
• Build relationships with governmental agencies and stakeholders involved in financial exploitation cases.
• Develop training materials and conduct training on financial exploitation.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of law.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of full-time work experience in relevant fields such as insurance adjusting, investigating violations of laws, or business management.
• Seven years of education and/or full-time experience in relevant fields, with specific coursework equating to experience.
• Current continuous experience in the state executive branch with 18 months of full-time work in insurance regulation.
