About the position

The Senior Financial Operations Analyst at Herc Rentals plays a crucial role in analyzing financial reports, assisting in budgeting and forecasting, and evaluating cost efficiencies across the organization. This position requires extensive experience and judgment to ensure accurate financial information and to support various departments through financial modeling and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports ensuring financial information is recorded accurately.
• Assist in the budget and forecast process.
• Maintain budget and forecast information in the accounting system.
• Evaluate profit and cost efficiencies in various areas of the organization as needed.
• Develop, maintain, and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed.
• Participate in or lead special projects to improve process efficiency and performance.
• Communicate routinely with Supervisors regarding issues and deliverables.
• Research and prepare variance analysis and explanations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• 4-6 years of experience in the field.
• Ability to manage competing priorities.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and IT, with data mining and report development skills.
• Intellectual curiosity is a must.
• Knowledge of Accounting structures.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) across a diverse cross-functional environment.
• Superior analytical, research, and presentation ability.
• Working experience with Journal Entries, General Ledgers, Month-end close, and Account Reconciliations.

Nice-to-haves

• CPA or MBA highly desirable but not required.
