About the position

The Senior Financial Planning & Analyst role at Smurfit Westrock is a full-time position based in North Richmond, NSW. The primary focus of this role is to support financial decision-making through financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. The analyst will communicate strategic financial information to the Leadership Team and the APAC team, ensuring that financial insights drive business improvements and performance.

Responsibilities

• Development of models to manage budgeting, forecasts, capital investment appraisal, business case building, and long-term planning.
• Identify trends and provide recommendations for business improvement, including customer and product profitability analysis, actual versus budget, forecast and prior year for sales and margin performance, free cash flow, and working capital performance.
• Gathering data and insights for decision making. Establishing and refining necessary processes for forecasting, budgeting, analyzing, and reporting.
• Preparation and presentation of financial reports to Senior Management, highlighting key findings and recommendations within strict deadlines.
• Development and tracking of key financial performance indicators.

Requirements

• Accounting / Finance Degree and CPA / CMA / CIMA/CA qualification
• 5+ years in FP&A role
• Manufacturing experience
• ERP & Hyperion experience preferred
• Financial Planning, Finance skills
• Analytical Skills and Financial Modeling
• Budgeting & Forecasting experience
• Strong proficiency in Excel and financial software
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
