About the position

The Senior Financial Planning Analyst at Simply Business plays a crucial role in the finance team, focusing on reporting business results and supporting Finance Business Partners (FBPs) in analyzing trends. This position requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills to drive performance reporting and assist in strategic discussions across various functional groups.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the reporting of weekly and monthly business results.
  • Support FBPs in identifying and investigating changes in trends.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis of real-time trends and results in collaboration with the Data and Analytics team.
  • Create scenario analyses to assist FBPs and functional leaders in strategic discussions.
  • Own the end-to-end process for performance reporting for respective functions.
  • Prepare finance reporting packs, synthesizing key variances and drivers, and communicate findings to the business.
  • Prepare materials for monthly trading meetings to equip business leaders for discussions on results and expectations.
  • Support expense management by hosting meetings with business leaders to review performance and provide variance analysis.
  • Assist in the budgeting process for expenses, headcount, and revenue, partnering with FBPs and business leaders.
  • Support modeling and projections for new strategic opportunities.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with various functional groups.
  • Experience in financial reporting and performance analysis.
  • Proficiency in scenario analysis and financial modeling.
