About the position

The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst position at Central Pacific Financial Corp. involves preparing financial and regulatory reports for the company and its subsidiaries. This role is crucial in ensuring the timeliness, completeness, and accuracy of reports and filings, while also ensuring compliance with all accounting and financial reporting policies, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and banking regulatory requirements. The analyst will need to stay updated on changes in accounting and reporting requirements and facilitate necessary changes in policies and procedures to maintain compliance. The primary responsibilities include preparing and analyzing external financial and regulatory reports for various agencies, performing day-to-day general accounting and financial reporting functions, and continuously evaluating processes to create efficiencies. The analyst will also assist with software conversions, participate in special projects, and support quarterly reviews, annual financial statement audits, and periodic examinations by auditors and regulators. Additionally, the role involves performing variance analysis, preparing account reconciliations, and assisting with the resolution of accounting issues.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze external financial and regulatory reports (Call Report, FR-2644, FR-Y9C, FR-Y9LP) for the FDIC, FRB, DFI, and SEC.
  • Collect institutional data and prepare financial reports and surveys for federal and state government agencies.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports to management.
  • Perform day-to-day general accounting and financial reporting functions and month-end close processes for CPF, CPB, and affiliated entities.
  • Prepare accounting entries, maintain accounting records, perform monthly closing accrual calculations, prepare consolidated and stand-alone financial statements, and analyze financial results for compliance with GAAP.
  • Continuously evaluate and implement processes that streamline and automate tasks to create efficiencies.
  • Assist with software conversions and implementation.
  • Participate in special projects to improve performance and enhance shareholder value.
  • Assist with quarterly reviews, annual financial statement audits, and periodic examinations by auditors and regulators.
  • Prepare and update proper documentation and internal procedures.
  • Perform variance analysis, prepare account reconciliations, and assist with research and resolution of accounting issues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Accounting or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years combination of financial reporting/accounting and/or banking experience required (A bachelor's degree can substitute for 2 years of work experience).
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
