About the position

The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for completing and interpreting complex accounting and financial reporting activities to support the preparation, review, and distribution of corporate and bank financial reports. This role involves collaboration across departments to ensure data integrity and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, while also providing financial analysis to senior leadership and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Complete and interpret complex accounting and financial reporting activities.
  • Support the timely preparation, review, production, and distribution of internal and external financial reports.
  • Prepare and interpret financial analysis of ratios and trends.
  • Coordinate with other departments for reporting and analysis.
  • Identify inconsistencies and problems and bring them to management's attention.
  • Collaborate across the Finance division to ensure integrity of financials and sound controls.
  • Compile, review, analyze, and submit timely and accurate reporting in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure source data reliability and maintain documentation for data integrity initiatives.
  • Summarize results and trends for Senior Leadership.
  • Draft materials for senior leadership summarizing issues and solutions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on accounting and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal and external audits and examinations.
  • Assist in risk management governance and business continuity planning processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent education and training.
  • Four years of relevant accounting or accounting policy experience; understanding of GAAP and SEC/Regulatory Reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and consider broader implications of tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work under time constraints.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's or advanced degree in Business or Accountancy.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Prior experience with a large, SEC-registered financial institution.
  • Experience as an examiner of financial reports for regulatory agencies.
  • Proficient in Essbase/Hyperion, EPM/BPC, and Workiva.
