The Senior Financial Strategy Analyst position at Bread Financial Payments Inc. is a pivotal role within the Financial Strategy Team, which is dedicated to educating and driving profitable decisions for the business. This role involves independently analyzing, modeling, and forecasting the performance of private label and co-brand credit card portfolios. The analyst will support internal partners and leadership by developing client contract deal structures, promotional pricing, and maintaining file performance tracking and automation. The position requires a disciplined, data-driven approach and a thorough understanding of portfolio profitability, enabling the analyst to effectively present analyses to all levels of management. In this role, the Senior Financial Strategy Analyst will review and evaluate financial performance elements based on independently obtained information through tools such as SQL, Essbase, and MicroStrategy. They will publish reporting and findings as needed, analyze client performance, and compare actual performance to expected outcomes. The analyst will lead and complete ad hoc assignments, collaborating with various departments, and will demonstrate ownership of financial models and outputs, including pricing and monthly forecast models. Presenting findings to management is a key responsibility, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex information clearly. The analyst will also create and design processes based on portfolio trends, leading internal client discussions and participating in brand discussions. They will identify objectives and success metrics, proactively raise concerns, and make recommendations based on their research of competitor information. The role demands strong organizational skills to multitask and prioritize projects while adhering to deadlines. Responsibilities may include creating Client Performance Reports, reviewing client P&Ls, conducting monthly forecasting and budgeting, analyzing marketing campaigns, and driving recommendations to improve profitability. The analyst will work with minimal supervision to identify and solve problems effectively. Reporting is another critical aspect of this role, as the analyst will create and update ad hoc reports based on business needs, maintain key reports and models for analyzing and forecasting credit portfolios, and provide essential financial reporting for the team and internal partners. Attention to detail and quality of information is paramount, and the analyst will leverage data sources to build and maintain reports efficiently.
