About the position

At Quaker Houghton, we are seeking a Senior FLUIDCARE Chemical Engineer to provide advanced professional work and technical leadership as an on-site representative. This role may involve acting in place of the Fluidcare Program Manager or Fluidcare Site Manager when they are unavailable. The successful candidate will lead on-site technical and administrative duties in a manufacturing environment, interacting with the customer's production and technical personnel as well as suppliers. The engineer will serve as a consultant to customers on the appropriate use of chemicals or services in their plants, coordinating with other sites to drive communization and improvements. A key aspect of this role is to prepare and design reports and forms using computer systems, manage inventory of chemical products, and independently handle orders and receipts without support. The Senior FLUIDCARE Chemical Engineer will be responsible for recognizing, initiating, managing, and executing projects independently. This includes gathering data, preparing draft project sign-off proposals, and assisting or directing the project work of other Fluidcare Engineers or Technicians. The engineer will also lead and conduct meetings, anticipate customer requests, and provide concise next steps after reviewing value propositions and best practices. Safety is paramount, and the engineer will implement and follow safety protocols, perform pre-task planning, and conduct all pre-operation inspections. Additionally, the role may require collecting, analyzing, testing, interpreting, and recording chemical samples, recommending and completing corrective actions autonomously. The work environment includes both office and manufacturing settings, where the engineer may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. There may also be occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical shock risks, and slip/trip hazards. The noise level in the manufacturing environment is typically loud, and maintaining the highest EHS standards while at the customer's site is essential.
