About the position

Genesco is looking for a Senior FP&A Analyst to join their Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis group. This role is crucial for analyzing financial data, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and providing insights that drive business performance. The ideal candidate will be a motivated team player and self-starter, capable of effectively communicating complex financial information and collaborating with various leaders across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret financial data to provide operational reporting and monitor sales fluctuations.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting processes, summarizing monthly projection revisions.
  • Determine specific drivers of business performance, including revenue growth and margin mix analysis.
  • Partner with operational heads to present and explain the financial implications of operational results.
  • Conduct trend analysis and leverage insights for forward-looking planning.
  • Produce monthly actuals-to-forecast variance analysis on P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
  • Identify opportunities to increase the accuracy of forecast models.
  • Provide ongoing profitability reporting and assist in preparing management decks and Board presentations.
  • Perform financial modeling and ad hoc reporting as directed by senior leadership.
  • Communicate key information regarding actuals and forecasts to management succinctly.
  • Adjust divisional forecasts based on trends and economic research, managing quarterly earnings guidance model.
  • Integrate economic research into analysis, forecasts, and models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
  • 4+ years of experience in financial modeling and reporting preferred; CPA is a plus.
  • Experience in a multi-divisional operating company is a plus.
  • Intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft Excel with the ability to aggregate, manipulate, and interpret large data sets.
  • Ability to work in other Microsoft Office disciplines, such as Access and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in business intelligence tools, particularly Peoplesoft (a plus but not required).
  • Ability to learn new software platforms quickly.
  • Detail-oriented with analytical and creative thinking skills.
  • Ability to work with various levels of management and be a team player.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strategic and/or M&A experience is a plus.

  • Experience with business intelligence tools like Peoplesoft.
