About the position

The Senior FP&A Analyst role at Vail Resorts is designed to support the Hospitality and Mountain division by providing data-driven insights and financial management. This position is based in Broomfield, Colorado, and is part of a centralized Financial Planning & Analysis team that plays a crucial role in the financial operations of a leading ski resort operator. The analyst will engage in strategic analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, contributing to the overall financial health of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain active partnerships with operational leaders and cross-functional peers.
  • Provide support and training for operational business leaders to enhance business acumen and accountability.
  • Create business recommendations informed by data-driven analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Connect business changes with potential impacts on financial performance and communicate these to leadership.
  • Lead P&L and capital budgeting and forecasting exercises based on historical results and future indicators.
  • Produce detailed analyses of financial results and develop reporting packages for senior leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3+ years' experience in finance, accounting, business operations, consulting, or a related environment with a focus on financial modeling and analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience executing core FP&A processes, including annual budgeting and long-term strategic planning.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard financial systems such as PeopleSoft, Planful, or Tableau.
