About the position

The FP&A role at Sovrn is a unique finance position that emphasizes partnership with business leaders to drive decision-making through analysis, forecasting, and reporting. The position involves building and updating financial models, supporting budgeting and strategic planning, and contributing to projects that enhance profitability and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Drive current quarter revenue modeling by organizing vast data sets for cohort analysis.
  • Own the 3-statement financial model, updating data from various platforms and automating workflows.
  • Support quarterly budgeting and strategic planning by collaborating with cross-functional leaders to rationalize revenue targets and operating expenses.
  • Contribute to strategic projects focused on gross profit, unit economics, and long-range forecasting.
  • Partner with internal teams to highlight and measure performance against targets with key metrics.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, or consulting.
  • Highly analytical with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Experienced with key business financial statements and a three-statement model.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, statistics, business administration, or a relevant quantitative field.
  • Experience querying and analyzing data using SQL or strong FP&A experience with aptitude for learning data systems.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a focus on generating results.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethics in professional standards.
  • Ability to work and communicate across the organization to understand data and stakeholder perspectives.
  • Proactive in making recommendations for improvements considering internal and external stakeholders.
  • Accountability for deliverables and timetables.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient with building things in Looker.
  • Proficient with building things in Pigment.
  • Experience in multi-layered scenario planning and ad hoc analysis.
  • Experience forecasting trends in industries with high volatility and seasonality.
