About the position

The Senior FP&A Analyst at Caterpillar Inc. plays a crucial role in the Resource Industries segment for the Americas Region, focusing on financial reporting, business analysis, and decision support. This position involves providing financial counsel for complex analyses and commercial deals, supporting leadership with actionable insights, and driving process improvements within the finance function.

Responsibilities

  • Monthly financial reporting, forecasting and decision support
  • Analyze, explain and present regional financial performance
  • Perform accounting review of legal documents
  • Provide meaningful, actionable insights, advice, and recommendations to leadership
  • Drive process improvement, automation and support Digital Finance initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to initiate, lead, or support business unit or corporate initiatives
  • Conduct commercial deal analysis and investment analysis

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business
  • Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision
  • Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions
  • Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions
  • Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs
  • Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities
  • Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports
  • Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material
  • Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports
