About the position

The Senior FP&A Analyst will play a critical role in supporting SevenRooms' financial planning and strategic decision-making processes, with a particular emphasis on customer metrics, MRR growth/retention analysis, and unit economics. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for providing insightful financial analysis, developing and maintaining financial models, and contributing to the overall financial strategy of the company. You will report directly to our Senior Director, FP&A.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed analysis of Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) trends, including new bookings, renewals, upsells, and churn.
  • Analyze customer acquisition costs (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), and customer retention metrics to drive improvements in SaaS economics.
  • Monitor and report on customer segmentation, cohort performance, and churn rates, identifying opportunities to enhance customer retention and growth.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning, with a focus on SaaS metrics.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities related to customer and revenue growth.
  • Prepare and present detailed variance analysis, including budget vs. actuals and forecast updates.
  • Partner with GTM, Product & Engineering, and G&A teams to provide financial insights that support customer retention strategies and MRR growth.
  • Lead ad-hoc financial analysis and scenario planning related to help business partners make decisions and drive results.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting and analysis, particularly around customer metrics.
  • Automate and streamline existing financial processes related to MRR tracking, customer segmentation, and retention analysis.
  • Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and the board of directors, with a focus on customer and revenue metrics.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track financial, customer, and operational performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, consulting, or a related financial role, preferably within a SaaS or technology environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with financial modeling, particularly around SaaS metrics such as Gross/Net Retention, CAC, LTV, and Payback Period.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights related to customer and revenue growth.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
