About the position

The Senior FP&A Analyst role at Vail Resorts is designed to support the Hospitality and Mountain division by providing data-driven insights and financial management. This position is integral to the centralized Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, which plays a crucial role in the financial operations of a leading ski resort operator. The analyst will engage in strategic analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, contributing to the overall financial health of the company while fostering partnerships with operational leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain active partnerships with operational leaders and cross-functional peers.
  • Provide support and training for operational business leaders to enhance business acumen and accountability.
  • Create business recommendations informed by data-driven analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Connect business changes with potential impacts on financial performance and communicate these to leadership.
  • Lead P&L and capital budgeting and forecasting exercises based on historical results and future indicators.
  • Produce detailed analyses of financial results and develop reporting packages for senior leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3+ years' experience in finance, accounting, business operations, consulting, or a related environment with a focus on financial modeling and analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with core FP&A processes, including annual budgeting and long-term strategic planning preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard financial systems such as PeopleSoft, Planful, or Tableau preferred.
