The Sr. FP&A Analyst at MSIG North America plays a crucial role in the financial planning and analysis department, focusing on the annual budget for various divisions including MSMM, MSIGIS, MSIA, MSU, MSIGS, and MSIGH. This position involves the implementation and maintenance of the budget system, preparation and analysis of management reports, and extensive analysis of budget versus actual results. The analyst will collaborate closely with managers to develop budgets and forecasts, ensuring that financial planning aligns with the company's strategic goals. In terms of budget reporting and expense analysis, the Sr. FP&A Analyst will be responsible for the maintenance, analysis, and distribution of monthly and quarterly budget results for the management company, services company, and insurance companies. This includes conducting expense variance analysis and writing reports that detail budget versus actual results, as well as current versus prior year variances. The role requires frequent interaction with the management team to discuss expense analysis and trending, as well as a monthly analysis of various financial results compared to the budget. The annual budget process is another key responsibility, where the analyst will prepare outlooks and forecasts for MSMM, MSIA, MSU, and MSIGH. This entails compiling and analyzing annual budgets, projecting all income-related data such as premiums, reinsurance, investments, losses, and expenses, as well as capital expenditures. Considerable interaction with management staff is expected during this process to ensure accuracy and alignment with business objectives. Additionally, the Sr. FP&A Analyst will document and maintain policies and procedures related to the budget, implement and update the budget system for various divisions, and ensure the maintenance of accounts and tables. This includes updates to cost centers and preparation of numerous system-generated reports. The analyst will also be responsible for all Workday/Adaptive system and report maintenance, including workflow, user administration, report modification, adding new department codes, and setting up budget scenarios. Working collaboratively with all users of Workday is essential to ensure the success of the budget process. Other duties and projects may be assigned as needed.
