About the position

Front is seeking a Senior Front-End Developer to join our marketing team, focusing on managing, building, and optimizing our web presence. In this role, you will have full ownership of our technology stack, allowing you to optimize and enhance it to create exceptional customer experiences for both new leads and existing customers. Your primary responsibility will be to continually optimize our publicly-facing pages based on business data and internal requirements, while advocating for modern technical solutions and enhancements to scale our existing processes. As a Senior Web Developer, you will own front-end web development projects from the initial scoping phase through to implementation and optimization. You will work closely with other members of the marketing, design, and content teams, acting as a technical stakeholder to influence and drive project outcomes. Your tasks will include redesigning web pages and updating existing sites based on high-fidelity designs, as well as quality assurance and troubleshooting of UI, performance issues, and bugs as they arise. You will also support the design and development of A/B tests and other optimization efforts, ensuring that industry best practices in web development, such as accessibility, performance, and site architecture, are followed and communicated effectively. Additionally, you will assist management with scoping projects, setting stakeholder expectations, and proactively communicating any potential risks or delays. This role is crucial in ensuring that Front's web presence is not only visually appealing but also functional and optimized for performance, ultimately contributing to the overall success of our marketing efforts.

Responsibilities

• Own front-end web development projects from scoping through implementation and optimization.
• Partner closely with marketing, design, and content teams as a technical stakeholder to influence and drive project outcomes.
• Redesign web pages and update existing sites based on high-fidelity designs.
• QA and troubleshoot UI, performance issues, and bugs when they arise.
• Support design and development of A/B tests and other optimization efforts.
• Follow and communicate industry best practices on web development such as accessibility, performance, and site architecture.
• Support management with scoping, setting stakeholder expectations, and proactively communicating potential risks/delays.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 years of front-end development experience managing, developing, and deploying changes across high traffic, public-facing sites (SaaS industry preferred).
• Experience managing sites via a headless CMS (content management systems) such as Craft, Contentful, Sanity.io, etc.
• Experience with two or more open-source CMS (Wordpress, Grav, Ghost, Hubspot, Jekyll, etc.).
• Significant experience developing in JavaScript (Node.js) via TypeScript and using package managers such as Yarn, NPM, and Homebrew.
• A history of building and managing sites in React and/or Next.js and using PHP with databases.
• Experience working on marketing teams as an individual owner or as part of small teams.
