About the position

As a Senior Front End Developer at Fidelity Health Care Technology Group, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional digital web experiences to our customers. You will be expected to collaborate with architecture, security, and UXD teams to ensure that the applications we build are architecturally compliant and meet the highest standards of quality. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in Agile and Scrum methodologies, as well as your professional experience with front-end frameworks and web technologies, to contribute to the development of enterprise digital applications. You will also be responsible for mentoring and encouraging team members, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration. Your contributions will help us stay ahead of the curve by aligning architecture, user experience, and security with our organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement web applications that provide outstanding user experiences.
  • Collaborate with architecture, security, and UXD teams to build architecturally compliant applications.
  • Partner with platform squads to define engineering standards and best practices.
  • Provide engineering thought leadership to advance Health Care benefits and management outcomes.
  • Analyze and solve problems in collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on architecture, user experience, and security trends to align with chapters and COEs.
  • Support a cloud-first approach by upskilling and augmenting squads with knowledge of AWS native services.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in designing and implementing web applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience in Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
  • Professional experience in front-end frameworks and web technologies including HTML/CSS, JavaScript or Typescript, web components, Node.js, Vue.js, or Angular.
  • Solid knowledge in Java and/or other Open-Source stack technologies.
  • Strong technical background in crafting and developing enterprise digital applications with MVC design pattern, micro front-end strategy, and open microservice architectures.
  • Proven experience with building digital RESTful APIs (GraphQL is a plus).
  • Deep understanding and experience of version control system management using various Git workflows.
  • Proven experience in DevOps best practices and tools like Jenkins or Jenkins Core, and Git/GitHub.
  • Solid knowledge of cloud solutions, serverless architecture, and containerization strategies.
  • Proven experience in container and cloud technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS, as well as secure application development.
  • Quality-first, testable solutions using TDD and automation.
  • In-depth knowledge of secure coding standards and practices.
  • Strong experience in leading in a reciprocal, team-based environment with a constant focus on learning, mentoring, and encouraging others.
