About the position

The Senior Front End Software Engineer will join an Agile team at HII's Mission Technologies division, focusing on developing advanced web applications that support military operations. This role involves designing, developing, and testing software for the Minotaur Mission Processor, a tool that enhances military operators' capabilities by processing data from various surveillance sensors. The position offers a unique opportunity to work on complex systems that directly impact national security, with a strong emphasis on user experience and interface design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems.
• Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and hardware engineers.
• Determine computer user needs and analyze system capabilities to resolve problems.
• Prepare operating instructions and ensure software standards are met.
• Design and develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

Requirements

• 9 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 7 years with a Master's; 4 years with a PhD or JD; or 13 years relevant experience with a High School Diploma.
• 7+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years of web development experience.
• Willingness to develop software with C++, Java, Typescript, or related languages in Linux.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a United States security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of React experience.
• 5+ years of UX design and analysis experience.
• Experience with mono-repo build systems.
• Previous leadership or mentorship experience.
• Active security clearance.
