About the position

The software engineer position at Broadcom focuses on creating engaging and user-friendly interfaces for Mainframe products. The role involves collaborating with various teams to design, develop, and test applications that enhance user experience and accessibility. The engineer will leverage their expertise in frontend technologies to contribute to the modernization of enterprise software products, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet the needs of Fortune 1000 companies.

Responsibilities

• Produce deliverables for use in all products in the Mainframe division teams.
• Work collaboratively with Product, UX, and Engineering teams to understand requirements and design innovative applications.
• Build user interfaces and experiences using the in-house component library.
• Provide thought leadership on the evolution of digital procurement tools through design.
• Analyze, debug, and assist in problem-solving in both development and production environments.
• Support and contribute to end of iteration demos.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of related experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of related experience, or a PhD with no experience.
• Knowledge and experience in Frontend Development technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, Typescript, CSS, and React.
• Familiarity with MVC and MVVM architectural patterns in front-end architectures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to solve complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with GraphQL and Node.js.
• Passion for user experience and improving UI.
• Ability to adapt to changing technology.
