About the position

Oracle Digital Assistant (ODA) is at the forefront of delivering a comprehensive AI platform designed to create conversational experiences for business applications through text, chat, and voice interfaces. As a Senior Frontend Software Developer, you will play a pivotal role in this innovative environment, particularly as the healthcare industry undergoes a significant transformation towards AI-driven solutions. ODA is committed to enhancing the Oracle Health & Artificial Intelligence (OHAI) space, leveraging cloud technology to provide real-time data management and analysis. This shift not only improves efficiency but also accuracy in data handling, moving away from traditional methods that rely heavily on manual processes. In this role, you will collaborate with teams of software engineers to design, develop, and operate both new and existing products. Your primary responsibility will be to translate UX designs into functional implementations, ensuring that the user interface is not only intuitive but also robust. You will be expected to dive deep into the UI stack, demonstrating a hands-on approach to problem-solving and development. As a Frontend Engineer, you will also be responsible for providing technical leadership within the organization. Your ability to balance speed and quality while implementing iterative improvements will be crucial to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently and provide technical leadership to the broader organization.
  • Develop scalable UI designs and ensure interfaces are fault-tolerant and intuitive.

  • Recommend and justify major changes to new and existing products using data-driven approaches.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science or relevant technical field involving coding or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of total experience in software development.
  • Demonstrated ability to write maintainable, tested software code in Javascript and HTML.
  • Experience with UI frameworks, such as React/Preact, Knockout.js, Angular, Oracle JET, Backbone.js, etc.
  • Experience with UI test frameworks and test runners, such as Selenium, Mocha, Karma, etc.
  • Experience writing UI build scripts, such as Grunt, Webpack, RequireJS, etc.
  • Experience working with Node.js.
  • Proven ability to deliver products and experience with the full software development lifecycle.
  • Systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, a sense of ownership, and drive.
  • Public Cloud SaaS, PaaS Services and/or related technology experience, Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience delivering product features.
  • Experience iterating over UX designs and product requirements.
  • Able to effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs).
  • Experience raising the technical bar for the team.
  • Familiarity with host virtualization technologies (Containers, Docker, etc.).
