About the position

As part of this mission, we are building Effect House, the official Augmented Reality (AR) creation tool for TikTok. This platform is designed to empower creators by providing them with the tools they need to develop engaging and innovative effects that can reach TikTok's global community of over a billion users. The Creative Effects feature is integral to the TikTok experience, making content creation easy and fun. As a Senior Frontend Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in crafting the technology that enables intuitive effect development and design. Your work will focus on building a unified algorithm system that delivers cutting-edge AR algorithms to various TikTok products, enhancing the interactive experience for hundreds of millions of users worldwide. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative features for TikTok's Effect House, which serves as the platform's special effects editor. You will also provide robust support to our rapidly growing effect creator community and internal effect production team, enabling them to realize their creative visions. This position requires a strong proficiency in JavaScript and familiarity with modern web development practices, including component-based development patterns and popular frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js. Your contributions will directly impact the way creators interact with our platform and the quality of the effects they produce, ultimately driving user engagement and satisfaction. Responsibilities

• Design and implement innovative features for TikTok's Effect House, the platform's special effects editor.
• Provide robust support to our rapidly growing effect creator community and internal effect production team, enabling them to realize their creative vision.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.
• Experience with Typescript.
• Understanding of web-based development and component-based development patterns, familiarity with React, Angular 2.0+, Vue.js, or any other equivalent library/framework.
• Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.

Nice-to-haves

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Electron, React Native, and client-side development is a plus.
• Experience with UI Testing Automation frameworks such as Jest or React Testing Library is a plus.
• Familiarity with game engines (Unity/Unreal) and real-time rendering, animation, and VFX pipelines is a plus.
