About the position

Cognizant Digital Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to design and architect high-performance Java-based enterprise systems. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create scalable, secure, and efficient solutions while adhering to best practices and long-term business objectives. The position is hybrid, based in Chicago, IL, and requires legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using Angular and React to ensure high performance and responsiveness.
• Implement server-side logic using PHP to support front-end functionalities.
• Utilize AWS services to deploy, manage, and scale web applications efficiently.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with team members.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure smooth functionality and user experience.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers to foster their growth.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and workflows.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience working with Angular and React frameworks.
• Demonstrate expertise in PHP Web Development (PHP-FPM 7.2) and MySQL 5.7.
• Experience using Symfony Messenger for async message queues (scheduled and ad-hoc).
• Experience working with Symfony Framework and server-side driven MVC.
• Experience working with Apache.
• Experience with AWS services for deployment and management is a nice to have.
• Have experience working in an agile development environment.
