About the position

The Senior Full Stack Java + React Developer will engage in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment of applications for clients. This hybrid role requires collaboration with solution architects and team leads, focusing on delivering high-quality software solutions while mentoring junior developers and adhering to best practices in software development.

Responsibilities

• Participate in technical planning & requirements gathering phases including design, coding, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of engineering software applications.
• Employ strong coding standards for efficiency, readability, and reuse.
• Ensure that the technical software development process is followed on the project, familiar with industry best practices for software development.
• Serve as a senior technical member of the team and mentor junior resources, providing technical support and leadership in the development and continual improvement of service.
• Practice strong configuration management and version control.
• Participate in the creation of the WBS and backlog per sprint and assist PM in project planning.
• Independently manage assigned tasks.
• Attend sprint planning, retrospective meetings, daily stand-ups and report technical blockers to the project lead.
• Ensure deliverables are of the highest quality to promote client satisfaction.
• Ability to work independently with a focus on first-time quality without requiring excessive review by other team members.
• Demonstrate the ability to adapt and work with team members of various experience levels.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members.

Requirements

• 7+ years of application development experience.
• Proficiency in Java/J2EE and Spring Boot Frameworks (minimum 5 years experience).
• Proficiency in JavaScript, React front end frameworks, and Redux (minimum 2 years experience).
• Experience with various AWS services and serverless concepts.
• Strong debugging, problem solving, and investigative skills.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Self-starter who can work independently.
• Client facing and/or consulting experience is a must.
• Excellent communication skills to explain and present concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Math, Engineering or comparable major.
• Strong consulting and communication skills.
