About the position

Leidos is seeking a Senior Full Stack (React/Node) Developer to lead the Digital Modernization Strategy for the Social Security Administration (SSA). This role involves building next-generation enterprise APIs and modern responsive user interfaces, impacting millions of American lives. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in React, Node, and related technologies, and will thrive in a collaborative, inclusive team environment focused on mission success.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, code, and implement next-generation web applications using software engineering best practices.
• Provide software expertise in areas such as Rich Single Page Application modular user interfaces and secure RESTful API micro-services.
• Investigate and repair application defects across various components including front-end and database.
• Brief management, customers, teams, or vendors using appropriate technical communication skills.
• Perform all other duties as assigned or directed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of experience in modern software development with a solid understanding of application design, building, deploying, and running.
• Extensive experience with Node.js and React.js, including user interface frameworks and back-end software architecture.
• Strong experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React.js, Express.js, MobX, Redux, or Flux.js.
• Experience developing RESTful Web Services using Node.js.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Agile development processes including Scrum and Kanban.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with HTML/CSS creation and manipulation.
• Familiarity with other JavaScript frameworks such as Express, Restify, Hapi, and Sails.
• Experience with VersionOne Application Lifecycle Management Tools.
• Knowledge of Testing Tools including Mocha, Chai, Jest, and Selenium.
• Experience with Cloud Technologies such as Amazon Web Services.
