About the position

Confluent is seeking a Senior Full Stack Web Developer to join their innovative marketing team, which is focused on building awareness and generating demand for their leading data streaming platform based on Apache Kafka. The role involves creating a world-class online experience that enhances consumer engagement, collaborating with various teams, and tackling significant challenges in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with partner teams to deliver world class end-to-end experiences
• Implement high-performing and reusable UI components
• Build responsive web experiences that look great across multiple devices and browsers
• Create database schemas
• Contribute to a working backend or create one yourself
• Utilize knowledge on testing, security, and scalability of building a web backend
• Build and maintain backend software services that integrate with internally owned systems and 3rd party software
• Collaborate with peers to design, write, document, deploy, and maintain the front end codebase
• Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues
• Participate in design reviews
• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality is production ready
• Enjoy building high quality code and working with a collaborative team

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in a production environment creating scalable and responsive websites/applications using Javascript, React, and CSS
• Strong x-team communication skills
• An ownership mentality in all the things you build and are comfortable with identifying opportunities and driving forward-looking technical roadmaps
• Strong proficiency in React
• Strong proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Knowledge of at least one backend language
• Strong knowledge of backend design patterns
• Strong understanding of database design
• Ability to think of edge cases and communicate with the team clearly
• Comfortable with reviewing PR's and giving constructive feedback
• Critical-thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to implement stakeholder/design requests from end to end
• Adept at writing current, clean, compliant, search-engine friendly HTML and CSS
• Writing clean, scalable, component style code
• Comfortable working independently in a high-growth, fast-paced startup
