About the position

TikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video, and our mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy. As part of our global e-commerce data intelligence team, you will play a crucial role in developing data analytics and data-empowered platform capabilities across our global e-commerce initiatives. This team is dedicated to providing users with tailored, active, and efficient consumption experiences, enabling merchants to receive stable and reliable platform services in various scenarios such as live e-commerce and short video content e-commerce. Our goal is to empower users to leverage and extract actionable insights from data, maximizing their potential and efficiency on the global e-commerce platform. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting and developing efficient and highly reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications for e-commerce products. You will collaborate closely with product and data teams to evolve data-empowered capabilities in areas such as data visualization, operational analysis, intelligent diagnosis, and market intelligence. Your work will involve code optimization to improve the scalability, reliability, security, and performance of web applications, as well as leading research and development into key areas of optimization for backend systems and services. As a senior fullstack software engineer, you will also drive and shape the growth of a highly effective product engineering team, providing professional and technical leadership to support the professional growth of individual team members. This position requires a strong understanding of software programming, data structures, algorithms, and scalable systems design, as well as a passion for software development and building great mobile/web applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop data insights capabilities for global e-commerce platform, enabling users to extract actionable insights and intelligence from data to maximize their revenue potential and decision-making efficacy.
• Collaborate closely with product and data teams to evolve data-empowered capabilities in data visualization, operational analysis, intelligent diagnosis, product/strategy optimization, market intelligence, etc.
• Architect and develop efficient and highly reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications for e-commerce products.
• Optimize code to improve scalability, reliability, security, and performance of web applications.
• Drive continuous improvements to engineering excellence and efficiency, leading research & development into key areas of optimizations for backend systems and services, including data security, systems architecture, and computational efficiency & scalability.
• Drive and shape the growth of a highly effective product engineering team, providing professional and technical leadership to support the professional growth of individual team members.

Requirements

• B.S or higher degree in Computer Science or related fields from accredited and reputable institutions.
• 5+ years experience developing highly scalable backend services and systems using at least one of Java/Golang/Python/Scala/C++, JavaScript/HTML/CSS, and at least one of React/Vue/Angular and packaging frameworks like Webpack/Rollup/BaBel/AST/Gulp.
• Strong software programming capabilities, exhibiting good code design and coding style.
• Deep understanding of data structure, algorithm design and analysis, networking, data security, and highly scalable systems design.
• In-depth knowledge of common databases and messaging frameworks like MySQL/Redis/Kafka.
