About the position

The Senior Functional Analyst role at Highmark Health focuses on supporting the product management lifecycle within the Product Experience and Capabilities Portfolio. This position is responsible for developing and documenting capabilities that enhance insurance products, ensuring a high-quality customer experience throughout the shopping and purchasing process. The analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders to capture capability needs and drive effective business solutions.

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers, business stakeholders, vendors, and IT delivery partners to capture capability needs and drive quality business solutions.
• Create and maintain deliverables such as business vision, business requirements, customer personas, and product capability roadmaps.
• Participate in the full product management delivery life cycle, leveraging knowledge of Agile/Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
• Lead business analysis, requirements definition, documentation, and user acceptance testing to minimize production defects.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, leading requirement walkthroughs and sprint reviews.
• Contribute to sprint plans and reviews to ensure alignment with customer needs and business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with required standards and obtain necessary approvals throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide guidance to junior resources and share best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5 years in a Business Analysis and/or Analyst role.
• 6 years of related experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3 years in Lean/Six Sigma and/or Process Improvement.
• 3 years in the Health Insurance Industry.
• 3 years in the Healthcare Industry.
• 1 year supporting product management and/or capability delivery.
• Lean/Six Sigma certification.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Business Analysis Professional (IIBA) certification.
• Human Centered Design (HCD) / Design Thinking certification.
