About the position
The Senior Fund Accountant will serve as the primary contact for various registered and private funds across multiple jurisdictions, including the United States, Canada, Ireland, and Luxembourg. This role involves collaboration with senior members of the fund administration team and managing relationships with third-party administrators and key vendors. The position focuses on fund reporting, including net asset valuation calculations and financial statement preparation, while ensuring effective communication with fund board members and various internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Act as the point of contact for several registered and private funds across multiple jurisdictions.
- Prepare, review, and understand fund reporting issues, including net asset valuation calculations and security valuation.
- Coordinate with fund board members and third-party administrators to prepare financial statements and regulatory filings.
- Collaborate with internal teams on fund-related items, including operating procedures and client inquiries.
- Construct analyses for product development and new initiatives for senior management review.
- Assist portfolio management teams with ad hoc reporting requests and investor-related questions.
- Ensure consistency of reporting and processes across the fund administration team.
- Utilize Advent Geneva portfolio accounting system for monthly performance reporting.
- Review processes for efficiencies and highlight improvement opportunities.
- Partner with third-party tax preparers to generate investor tax deliverables.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2+ years of experience in public accounting or the Financial Services industry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic and results orientation
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel and Word; working knowledge of PowerPoint
- CPA designation is a plus
