About the position

Men's Health is seeking a full-time Senior Gear and Commerce Editor to join our team. This role is pivotal in the production of affiliate-driven coverage in the Tech & Gear section on MensHealth.com, as well as in editing commerce content across the site. The ideal candidate will be a creative and ambitious self-starter with a strong background in gear and tech expertise. This position requires an openness to utilizing data analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Google Trends to monitor and report on monthly traffic and commerce goals, while also identifying new growth opportunities for the site. The Senior Gear and Commerce Editor will play a crucial role in shaping the content strategy and ensuring that the coverage aligns with the brand's objectives and audience needs. In this role, you will be responsible for pitching and editing expert-backed shopping content across tech and gear, collaborating with the centralized commerce team for major shopping events throughout the year, and working closely with the Deputy Commerce Editor to develop effective commerce strategies. Additionally, you will support Men's Health's Awards Programs and mentor junior commerce editors and freelancers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment within the team. This position is not only about content creation but also about strategic thinking and data-driven decision-making to enhance the overall commerce strategy of Men's Health.

Responsibilities

  • Pitch and edit expert-backed shopping content across tech and gear
  • Collaborate with centralized commerce team for tentpole shopping events throughout the year
  • Work closely with the Deputy Commerce Editor to develop commerce strategies
  • Support Men's Health's Awards Programs
  • Mentor junior commerce editors and freelancers

Requirements

  • At least four years of writing experience in digital media
  • One year of editing experience with a focus on commerce content
  • Demonstrated interest in tech and gear
  • Top-notch organization and communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal collaborators
  • Willingness to analyze data from multiple sources to inform commerce strategy

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $83,000-$85,300
  • Position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement
