About the position

The Senior General Manager of Taproom Operations at Great Notion Brewing is responsible for overseeing the operational success of two taproom locations in the Ballard and Georgetown neighborhoods of Seattle. This role involves engaging with staff to uphold quality standards, ensuring guest satisfaction, and actively participating in community outreach to enhance brand awareness. The Senior General Manager will also manage labor budgets, conduct staff training, and drive sales through strategic marketing efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Coach, mentor and develop taproom staff in all areas of employee development; conducts training, reviews & corrective action when necessary.
  • Maintains labor budgets and creates schedules for each location.
  • Oversees operational sales plans for each location to ensure profitability.
  • Track weekly, monthly location goals with Director of Operations.
  • Assist teams with oversight of inventory, help troubleshoot any issues.
  • Meet with Director of Operations to go over labor and operational cost numbers per location; intervening as necessary to remedy any issues.
  • Recruiting, hiring and training for the WA Taprooms.
  • Drive sales to taprooms by engaging in consistent community outreach efforts.
  • Make recommendations to leadership about places to invest local marketing budgets to drive sales to taprooms.
  • Conduct quarterly site audits at each location; supporting staff to make corrections when necessary.
  • Create and post marketing assets as needed for taprooms with input from the Taproom Marketing team.
  • Act as the point person for events; schedule, coordinate and staff company events.
  • Keeping locations stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Being the point of contact for any repairs, maintenance, utilities for both locations; communicating and partnering with necessary staff and management for repairs or costs.
  • Monitor online review sites such as Yelp and Google for guest feedback and respond as needed.

Requirements

  • Multi-unit management strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of management experience in hospitality, retail, service or F&B industry preferred.
  • Analytical, financial and budgeting experience
  • Strong customer service and hospitality skills
  • Ability to lead by example
  • People development skills; coaching, counseling, mentorship and career development
  • Food & beverage handlers license

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of craft beer and/or fine dining helpful
