About the position

The Senior Generator Technician at CACI International, Inc. is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, load bank testing, field diagnosis, and repairs on a range of generator systems. This role supports mission-critical programs and requires a strong technical understanding of power generation operations, along with the ability to troubleshoot and repair various electrical components associated with generator systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, load bank testing, and field diagnosis on generators ranging from 50kW to 2500kW.
• Diagnose and repair related electrical components including paralleling switchgear, automatic transfer switches, and distribution gear.
• Operate and maintain auxiliary generator equipment, including fuel systems.
• Conduct periodic inspections to ensure all equipment and controls are functioning properly.
• Utilize CMMS tools to manage work orders, maintenance, repairs, and spare part inventory.
• Maintain consumption and production records, and manage inventory lists for supplies and repair parts.
• Perform repairs on single-phase uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and troubleshoot overload conditions.
• Troubleshoot at the paralleling switchgears and control panels, including PLCs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent with a power generation certification and 10 years of experience in power generation operations, or 12 years of military experience in power generation operations.
• Technical understanding of power generation operation and maintenance, with certification from a power generation manufacturer preferred.
• Knowledge of document and report writing.
• Knowledge of safe work practices and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Knowledge of lockout and tag out procedures.
• US Citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance.
