About the position

The Senior Generator Turbine Application Engineer at GE Vernova is responsible for developing proposal content that adds value to customers while minimizing risks and adhering to standardized products. This role involves evaluating customer requirements, coordinating with various teams, and ensuring compliance with specifications to enhance GE's competitive position in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the timely evaluation of customer requirements via review of RFPs to ensure proper selection of GE Generator Scope of supply items.
  • Evaluate and develop comments and exceptions to the RFP, identifying compliance or gaps in GE equipment with customer specifications.
  • Perform analysis of customer conditions to assist in developing the Generator performance model.
  • Identify special customer requirements and develop competitive solutions with engineering and sourcing teams.
  • Coordinate strategies with Engineering, Product Finance, Commercial Operations, and Product Line Leadership.
  • Develop expertise in CPQ/PCS Processes and assist in developing costing for proposals.
  • Create the technical portion of the Customer Proposal Document, defining scope of supply and costing for Generator equipment.
  • Responsible for the technical content and cost of Customer Special Requirements in proposals.
  • Evaluate customer site requirements and develop project-specific generator performance models.
  • Attend internal project meetings and customer meetings to clarify technical aspects during negotiations.
  • Maintain awareness of product offerings and configuration features.
  • Interpret customer requirements to ensure proper application of GE equipment for customer satisfaction.
  • Support GE productivity and quality initiatives, ensuring on-time completion of proposal activities.
  • Communicate issues with project schedules or requirements early to facilitate resolution.
  • Develop specialized knowledge in the discipline and contribute to strategy and policy development.
  • Use judgment to solve moderately complex tasks or problems in operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
  • Act as a resource for less experienced colleagues and may lead small projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Engineering/Technology & Customer Application expertise or related Generator/Gas Power equipment.
  • Knowledge level comparable to a Master's degree or a Bachelor's degree with relevant experience.
