About the position

The Senior Project Manager will play a crucial role in leading and managing geotechnical engineering projects for a prominent firm in Dallas, Texas. This position is designed for an experienced professional looking to advance their career and take on a senior leadership role within the company. The role involves overseeing project execution, ensuring quality and compliance, and fostering client relationships while mentoring a team of engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple geotechnical engineering projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Provide technical direction and oversight on all geotechnical aspects of the projects, including soil and rock mechanics, foundation design, and site investigations.
  • Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients, and identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Mentor and lead a team of geotechnical engineers and support staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Leverage industry network to identify new business opportunities and prepare proposals.
  • Ensure all project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Prepare and present detailed project reports to clients and senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with at least 5 years in a project management role.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas is required.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and practices.
  • Proficient in geotechnical software and tools.
  • Strong business development and client relationship management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Extensive network within the geotechnical and construction industry in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
