About the position

The Senior Global Demand Planner will oversee all aspects of demand planning for designated lines of business, from new product launches to product end-of-life. This role involves direct engagement with business partners in the Retail, Store, and Commercial segments, as well as collaboration with internal teams within Device Supply Chain. The position aims to align plans to support future material and capacity planning, as well as transition and end-of-life planning for current inventory, ultimately leading future quarter planning for the commercial segment for Surface devices and accessories.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with S&OP, regional S&OE, and Supply Planning to drive short-term and long-term sell-through and sell-in demand planning to achieve financial and operational targets.
  • Drive optimal channel inventory to maximize revenue opportunities, ensuring key customers and opportunities are supported across all customer segments and mitigate risk (excess, aged, and stranded inventory).
  • Oversee product launch and product transition forecasting, ensuring that it balances customer and financial expectations with the product life cycle roadmap.
  • Ensure that key forecasting metrics are understood and actioned accordingly, including root cause investigation and leading cross-team efforts to drive necessary improvements.
  • Challenge the status quo via a growth mindset - strive for continuous improvement and customer-centricity in all aspects of decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Technology (IT), Business, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, or related field AND 4+ years supply chain, inventory management or sales operation experience, preferably in planning (demand/supply/forecasting), cloud industry experience, infrastructure, data science, and/or channel management experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of supply chain planning/forecasting, preferably in demand, supply, or inventory management.
  • Proven track record for identifying and implementing new opportunities to create synergy and mitigate risk.
  • Understanding of an end-to-end Supply Chain and the value/cost drivers that Supply Chain Management and Strategy can drive.
  • Ability to communicate, both written and verbal, along with cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Data-oriented, analytical and detail-oriented, yet balanced with an ability to step back from the data to draw out the right business approach for conclusions.
