Quaker Houghton's Senior Engineer, Global Engineering Projects - Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering will play a pivotal role in supporting new capital projects and enhancing existing sites. This position encompasses all phases of project work, from initiation and development through design, construction, commissioning, and startup. Additionally, the engineer will provide ongoing support for manufacturing operations and maintenance, ensuring that all systems function optimally and safely. The primary focus of this role will be the development of engineering standards, procedures, and guidelines for instrumentation, automation, and electrical systems utilized across Quaker Houghton facilities. The engineer will work extensively with distributed control systems, PLCs, and various control logic elements, as well as the electrical systems that are integral to the operation of our manufacturing plants. A strong background in automation systems within manufacturing operations is highly desirable, as it will enable the engineer to effectively contribute to the development and review of project plans and cost estimates for capital projects. In addition to technical expertise, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing electrical and instrumentation design needs for both major and minor projects, often collaborating with outside and third-party contractors. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of chemical plant operations to ensure the development and implementation of safe operating procedures regarding electrical equipment selection and control systems necessary for operations. Knowledge of HazOps and other Process Safety Management (PSM) activities related to instrumentation and electrical elements is also essential. The engineer will leverage their broad experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering to introduce new technology and knowledge into Quaker Houghton’s production and maintenance functions, ultimately driving improvements and efficiencies across the organization.
