About the position

The Senior Google Cloud Platform Big Data Engineer / Lead position is a hands-on role focused on developing and leading data engineering projects within the Google Cloud Platform. The role requires expertise in the Hadoop ecosystem and experience in building both batch and real-time streaming data pipelines. The candidate will also take on tech lead responsibilities, guiding the team in best practices and project execution.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain batch and real-time streaming data pipelines.
• Lead data engineering projects and provide technical guidance to the team.
• Utilize Google Cloud Platform for data processing and storage solutions.
• Implement best practices in data engineering and cloud architecture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.

Requirements

• 9+ years of experience in the Hadoop Big Data ecosystem.
• Proficiency in Spark for batch and streaming data processing using Python and Scala.
• Experience in developing data pipelines in a cloud environment, specifically Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong Python scripting skills.
• Expertise in SQL for data manipulation and querying.

Nice-to-haves

• Understanding of Hadoop fundamental concepts.
• Experience with CI/CD processes.
