About the position

As a Senior Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Data Engineer at Deutsche Bank, you will play a crucial role in our Sustainability Technology team, focusing on the integration of data and machine learning within the Google Cloud environment. This position is designed for an experienced Data/AI Engineer who is passionate about leveraging technology to drive sustainable finance and corporate sustainability initiatives. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data integrations on the Google Cloud Platform, ensuring that our sustainability products are robust and efficient. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of data management and machine learning, contributing to the growth and success of our team. In this position, you will work with various GCP services, including Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Storage, Vertex AI, and Anthos. You will design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using tools such as Composer, Apache Airflow, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub, automating data processing tasks with scripting languages like Python. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with software developers to integrate machine learning models and algorithms into our products, utilizing frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow. Additionally, you will develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and create Infrastructure as Code templates using Terraform. Staying current with the latest developments in Google Cloud Platform and machine learning is essential, as you will apply this knowledge to enhance our products and processes. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying and prioritizing infrastructure and machine learning requirements in collaboration with other teams, including software development, data science, and product management. This position is based in Cary, NC, and follows a hybrid working model, allowing for flexibility in your work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain Sustainability products and Data on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines using GCP services for data ingestion and transformation processes.
  • Automate data processing tasks using scripting languages like Python.
  • Collaborate with software developers to integrate machine learning models and algorithms into products.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub and GitHub actions.
  • Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code templates using Terraform.
  • Work closely with other teams to identify and prioritize infrastructure and machine learning requirements.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in Google Cloud Platform and machine learning.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a Data/AI role, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience on Vertex AI and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and querying.
  • Strong experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a Data/AI Engineer with proven expertise in designing and deploying data pipelines using GCP services.
  • In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its core data services.
  • Familiarity with agile software development methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
