About the position

The Senior Government Accounting Manager at GE Aerospace is responsible for developing Forward Pricing Rate Proposals (FPRPs) and the annual Incurred Cost Submission (ICS) for the Defense & Systems organization. This role involves ensuring compliant operating practices and policies, analyzing financial data, and leading continuous improvement initiatives in the FPRP and ICS processes. The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders and interact with key US government regulators to achieve compliance and optimize cost recovery on government contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide actionable analysis, insights, and recommendations for compliance with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), FAR, DFARS, and other regulations.
  • Analyze financial information to ensure costs are aligned to appropriate cost pools for FPRP and ICS submissions.
  • Monitor requirements for FPRP and ICS adequacy and implement necessary process changes.
  • Manage process and documentation supporting the development and audit of rates.
  • Establish effective relationships with cost and functional owners for timely support of submissions.
  • Support internal, DCMA, and DCAA audits, fostering strong auditor relationships.
  • Work in a fast-changing environment on high visibility projects.
  • Apply lean concepts to streamline processes and reduce waste.
  • Prepare five-year forward-looking cost forecast narratives.
  • Complete schedules for submission to the DCMA or other government agencies for FPRP.
  • Perform rate variance analysis comparing forecasted to actual costs.
  • Provide expertise in support of rate negotiations with US Government representatives and business leadership.
  • Perform data reconciliations between ICS schedules and source systems for accuracy.
  • Interface with business contacts to identify and execute memo adjustments for accurate ICS rates.
  • Present summaries of ICS rates and impacts to GE Aerospace leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • 4+ years operating cost analytics experience.
  • 3+ years cost accounting experience.
  • Significant experience in Finance, Government Accounting, and applicable regulations (CAS, FAR, DFARS, DCAA Contract Audit Manual).
